LI.FI is simplifying multi-chain DeFi for traditional financial institutions, fintechs and service providers by offering a unified API to access all on-chain liquidity across major blockchains for best price same-chain and cross-chain swaps. At LI.FI, data sits at the heart of how we build, scale, and make decisions. We’re looking for a Chapter Lead, Data who will drive our data strategy, build a strong data culture, and help us uncover insights that move the business forward
A Chapter Lead in our team acts as the bridge between engineers and the company, ensuring smooth delivery, promoting engineering excellence, and fostering team growth. Beyond supporting day-to-day engineering work, they maintain an overview across all employees of their discipline -regardless of team- facilitating knowledge sharing, aligning practices, and setting up clean workflows. By combining high-level technical vision with cross-team guidance, they enable engineers to succeed while ensuring consistency, efficiency, and collaboration across the organization.
This role is designed for someone who wants to grow into Head of Data as LI.FI scales. You’ll set the vision, connect technical and business teams, and make sure we can trust and use data at every step
Please note: For this role, we have a strong preference for you to be located in EMEA.
The current data tech stack of LI.FI utilizes:
Databases (MongoDB, Postgres)
Data pipelines and orchestration (Fivetran, Airflow)
Cloud data warehouse (Snowflake)
BI/dashboarding (Preset)
Programming (Python, TypeScript)
What you’ll do
Take ownership of LI.FI’s data strategy and shape the path toward Head of Data
Lead and align data efforts across product, backend, DevOps, and analyst/scientist teams
Build and evolve our internal insights platform to reduce time from data request to delivery
Ensure scalable, reliable pipelines for tracking API and product usage
Define and champion best practices in data modeling, documentation, governance, and infrastructure
Translate product and business questions into concrete data projects and pipelines
Mentor and support the data team as it grows, creating processes that scale
What we’re looking for
6+ years in data-focused roles (engineering, analytics, or analytics engineering)
Experience mentoring or leading team members; motivated to step into a Head of Data role
Strong technical background with our tech stack (SQL, Python, cloud data warehouses, pipelines)
Experience building or scaling data/insights platforms
Ability to bridge technical and business discussions, with excellent communication skills
Curious about crypto and DeFi (experience is a plus, but not required)
Nice to have:
Experience leading a data team in a startup or growth-stage company
Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools (Dune, Nansen, Flipside, etc.)
Background in software engineering or product development
