Key Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the Company’s external financial reporting process, including SEC reporting (Form 10-K, 10-Q) and other financial and regulatory statutory reporting (Bakkt Brokerage, Bakkt Trust, Bakkt Crypto Solutions)
• Summarize key financial reporting items for review by the Company’s Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee
• Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly financial statements, including statement of cash flows and EPS
• Ensure compliance with all SEC and GAAP and disclosure requirements
• Own the Finance administration of stock awards, including non-cash compensation accounting and disclosures and administration in Shareworks
• Lead various process improvement initiatives to eliminate redundancies and improve efficiency
• Oversee the Deloitte tax team in their income tax provision and disclosure processes
• Assist with the internal and external stakeholder review of the reporting deliverables
• Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors
• Support testing by external auditors on internal controls
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent related work or military experience
• 10 years technical accounting and reporting experience
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, or equivalent qualification
• External audit experience
• Experience with Workiva or similar SEC reporting software
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience researching and documenting application of accounting guidance to business transactions
• Ability to anticipate and surface issues, solve problems and recommend solutions, while exercising good business judgment and risk management
