VP of Engineering

Salad Ventures is a blockchain thinktank that develops and backs innovations in the growing gamefi or 'metaverse' space. We're a close knit family of builders, creatives and suits looking to change the face of new technologies.

As a member of our team, you will be exposed to the world of blockchain, cryptocurrency, play-to-earn, and other web3 projects. Our project is backed by some of the most connected VCs in the blockchain space and we're growing our family!

We are looking for an experienced leader to lead and expand our engineering team focusing on our core product.

We're growing our product team with full-stack developers and they'll need the support of competent UI/UX specialists with a keen eye for details like you to bring the technology to market where users will be happy to spend time using them.

We're looking for someone with a strong visual sense, with an aptitude for understanding how people think and interact with dashboards and products.

⚡︎Define the vision, strategy and roadmap of the org, and lead the org on delivering the vision

⚡︎ Set up the right processes and infrastructure to deliver our engineering roadmap, scale our tech team

⚡︎ Maintain high standards of output from tech team and troubleshoot any issues

⚡︎ Plan and lead engineering sprints, while balancing technical debt, to ensure that our development velocity achieves goals in a timely manner while achieving goals for scalability and minimizing incidents

⚡︎ Oversee engineering development to deliver milestones as planned.

⚡︎ Assign work to engineering team members and ensure a high quality product is timely delivered

⚡︎ Work cross functionally with several teams including engineering, product and go-to-market.

⚡︎ Work with the leadership team to set clear priorities while balancing the long-term and immediate deliverables.

⚡︎ Manages data security, infrastructure, and governance.

⚡︎ Manage tech team, strategic vendors and technology partner relationships.

⚡︎ Manage dev. team resource allocation, goal/KPI setting, and performance metrics.

⚡︎Facilitate the development and implementation of disaster recovery and IT security failure plans.

⚡︎ Create strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, and deployment of blockchain smart contracts, node integrations and full stack development.

⚡︎ Prior experience working in a fast-growing organization.

⚡︎ Prior experience of leading and scaling an engineering team successfully.

⚡︎ Organised and able to manage multiple product development timelines at once

⚡︎ Able to build, manage, scale and retain talented technical teams

⚡︎ Strong operational mindset and can strike the right balance between speed, quality and cost to achieve outcomes

⚡︎ Proactive communication and leadership experience, with particular emphasis on holding other engineering teams and leaders accountable

⚡︎ Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to grow, develop, and retain top tech talent.

⚡︎ Proven experience in working with several organizations and aligning goals, strategy and objectives.

⚡︎ Comfortable in presenting to both business and technical executives.

⚡︎ Familiar with Rust/Solidity (or able to learn quickly)

⚡︎ Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)

⚡︎ Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design

⚡︎ Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Typescript, React, Node.js)

⚡︎ Familiar with AGILE, SCRUM and OKR methodologies

⚡︎ At least 5 years of leadership experience in technology organizations.

⚡︎ BS Computer Science or similar fields

Our team is based in Singapore and would prefer someone who is also based here, or at least in the same timezone (GMT+8).
