Day to Day

  • Lead and develop a team of learning designers; set goals, coach regularly, and foster an inclusive, feedback‑rich culture.
  • Run an intake and prioritization process for new learning needs; maintain a clear portfolio/roadmap with timelines and owners.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across functions to translate business problems into clear learning objectives and success metrics.
  • Review and approve design artifacts (blueprints, storyboards, prototypes); raise the bar on quality, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Oversee development and launch of multi‑modal programs (ILT, VILT, eLearning, blended); manage resourcing and vendors as needed.
  • Track program health and outcomes; report results and drive continuous improvement using learner and performance data.
  • Communicate status/risks to leadership; unblock cross‑team dependencies and align on change management for rollouts.

Responsibilities

  • Own end‑to‑end design and delivery for high‑impact learning programs aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Establish and enforce design standards for quality, accessibility (WCAG‑aligned), and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Define KPIs and measurement plans; instrument feedback loops and dashboards to evaluate effectiveness and business impact.
  • Partner with Enablement, People, and business leaders to plan launches, socialize outcomes, and scale successful programs.
  • Build/maintain vendor relationships (RFPs/SOWs, delivery oversight, budget stewardship) when external capacity is needed.
  • Drive operational excellence across intake, scoping, capacity planning, scheduling, and stakeholder communications.
  • Champion learner advocacy; ensure solutions address diverse learner needs across roles, time zones, and modalities.

Skills/Competencies

  • 7+ years in Learning/Instructional Design; 3+ years leading or managing learning design teams.
  • Experience delivering enablement for sales/client‑facing or global internal audiences.
  • Experience implementing learning analytics dashboards and continuous improvement loops.
  • Expertise designing multi‑modal programs (ILT, VILT, eLearning, blended) at enterprise scale with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence; comfortable aligning with senior leaders across functions.
  • Deep knowledge of adult learning principles, accessibility/inclusive design, and modern learning tech (LMS/LXP; Synthesia/Elucidat/Smart Builder/Vyond or similar)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and storytelling; translate business goals into clear learning objectives and experiences.
  • Program/project management across multiple workstreams: prioritization, scheduling, risk management, vendor oversight, and iteration with data

NYC Metro Area 112,000 - 168,000 USD per year
