About the Job

Blackbird is looking for a creative, versatile Social Media & Community Manager to manage our ever-growing social audience. You will be responsible for educating our brand values to our community and managing the day-to-day tactical side of our social media strategy.

This role requires a creative and data-driven individual who can seamlessly integrate social content, as well as influencer marketing and community building tactics to drive brand awareness and engagement. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of content creation and managing social media tasks from ideation to execution, with experience in community management. A successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial “can do” spirit and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to tell our story and elevate our brand in line with strategic business priorities and product roadmap
  • Maintain and enhance Blackbird’s brand voice across social media platforms, ensuring consistency and authenticity based on our brand positioning
  • Lead, plan and implement our overall social(s) calendar and platform positioning based on our social media strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams and any external partners to achieve campaign objectives
  • Use your creative talents to develop best in class content, including graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets
  • Foster a strong sense of community among Blackbird’s enthusiasts, encouraging interaction, user-generated content, and brand advocacy
  • Work closely with the Experiential Marketing Manager to plan and execute events that bring the Blackbird community together and bring value to our users
  • Develop and implement influencer marketing campaigns, from selecting influencers to negotiating partnerships and aligning with brand messaging (ensuring alignment with business priorities, seasonality, trends, and cultural events)
  • Write and edit social copy
  • Utilize data and analytics tools to measure the success of social media efforts, providing regular reports and insights
  • Be a thought leader on all things content and social so you can play a crucial role across the wider Blackbird business
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in social media marketing for a consumer lifestyle brand
  • Proven track record managing both organic and paid social media across current and emerging platforms
  • Staying updated on social media trends and mastering content creation, including lo-fi video, is essential
  • Experience in working with and executing influencer strategies aligned with broader marketing and business goals
  • High attention to detail with demonstrated ability to care for multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Flawless written and verbal communication skills; must be able to pitch ideas and present complex concepts in a concise and understandable way
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and consumer insights
  • Able to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules
  • Based in NYC

Pay Transparency Notice & Benefits

Depending on your work location and experience the target annual salary for this position can range from $75,000 - $100,000 USD. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.

Full time offers from Blackbird may also include stock options, benefits (including medical, dental, vision, flexible time off, 401(k)), and some not-so-standard, extra-fun perks — subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility.
